The Invisible People

I'm one of the invisible people

We hide from the revealing light

The light that shows our ugly faces

We hide ourselves in the comforting dark

The dark that protects us from your taunting laughs

The dark I hide in is the shadows

The shadows of you perfect people

I love you but yet I hate you

It's just too complicated for someone like me to explain

I'm one of the stupid people

I don't know what I want and I don't care

I don't care about anything do I?

I just care about the dark and the music

The music that I listen to is soothing

I use it to hide my ears from your hurtful words

I close my eyes to hide my eyes from your offensive looks

It is the way of the invisible people

We hide our ears from your harmful phrases

We hide our sensative eyes from the way you look

Some of us make ourselves visible by earning it

Some of us do it right, some of us do it wrong

To me, it doesn't matter if the others do it wrong or right

I envy them when they become one of the visible people

But, deep down, I know that they will never be one of the perfect people

Invisible people can never become perfect people

It's just not meant to be

It's just the way life works for us

It is not how we choose to live

It's how we're born

You're born either invisible, visible, or perfect

You're not allowed to pick

Whatever being chooses this is what chooses it

Not you

But the perfect people only hurt us more

They show off their perfection with perfect makeup or slutty clothes

We invisble people try that but it never works

We're still imperfect and invisible and no one cares

The perfect people don't care

The perfect people don't want to help

They don't care if we're unhappy

They won't do anything to help us

So why do we bother asking for help?

Because it's all we know how to do

Except for us stubborn ones

Stubborn like me

We have very little pride

But we hold onto it

We try, anyways

But, no matter what we do

No matter how hard we try

We'll always just be
